Biographical Information:

I was born in Grenada, MS in 1976 to Mike and Barbara Latham. I lived in Texas for three years as a child and returned to Mississippi, where I attended Grenada Public Schools until the 9th grade when my family moved to Cleveland, MS. I attended Cleveland High School and was a member of the CHS Band as well as other student organizations.  I was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland and participated in the youth group, “Servant Heart” vocal ensemble, and the FBC Media Ministry.

I attended Delta State University and was employed as a full time staff member before graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Art Education. I have taught for twelve years in public institutions ranging from kindergarten to community college, I am 41 years old and a published writer, photographer, artist, musician, educator, and all around jack-of-all-trades. I enjoy the bohemian side of life and have a passion for beauty, imagination, and the creative spirit.

On May 26, 2012, I married my wife, Leigh. We live together in a cozy little house with two cats named, Saffron and Audrey. In the future I'd like to teach full time at a community college, complete work on a Master’s of Fine Arts in painting or similar discipline, and to explore writing and art for more than instruction and my own enjoyment.

“I believe that success in life is measured by the types of relationships we establish, the degree to which we improve the quality of life for everyone around us, and the legacies we leave behind us as we journey to our ultimate reward.”
